Redesigning for a Sustainable Future

Wildbiene + Partner
Sixteen components. We made it one.

Client: Wildbiene + Partner AG
The challenge
Wildbiene + Partner had a product that protects wild pollinators, sold in Switzerland, and had demand. The roof alone used 16 components. That cost showed up in production, assembly time, durability, logistics and the retail price. To sell in Germany and France at a price those markets accept, the product had to get cheaper to build before the company could grow.

The approach
We set one target before any styling work: as few parts as physically possible. Roof geometry, assembly sequence and manufacturing were redesigned around it.
16 roof components became 1. Fewer parts meant fewer production steps, fewer failure points, less material and an assembly you understand at a glance.
We applied circular design principles throughout, so the redesign also lowered the footprint of a product built to protect the environment.

The result
The new BeeHome is cheaper to produce, more durable and ready for Germany, France and other European markets. One decision on part count changed what the company could do next.
